Home Friendship House

Created for Friendship House, a Wilmington, Delaware nonprofit that provides services to the underprivileged and unhoused, Home explores the experience of homelessness through the perspectives of several Delawareans. While I led the project from conception to post-production, I worked closely with Friendship House executives to align my storytelling with their organizational values.

This video features several of the most difficult interviews I’ve conducted in my career thus far. Navigating this deeply emotional topic with nuance and respect was on my mind near-constantly, and balancing my desire for information with my interviewees’ boundaries was a priority. Despite these challenges, having such emotionally-charged testimonials quickly helped the story fall into place during editing.

Home was shared with Friendship House’s mailing list in 2022 as a part of the organization’s annual holiday appeal.
